Courtney Scantlin practices general civil litigation with an emphasis on commercial litigation matters, including breach of complex, commercial agreements, non-competition agreements, fraud, Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, unfair competition and construction law.
To further serve business clients, Ms. Scantlin is also experienced in employment law matters. In the employment arena, she has successfully resolved numerous Title VII cases, claims of sexual harassment, violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and race discrimination.

- Defended Fortune 500 Company in multiple federal injunction proceedings regarding exclusivity provisions in complex commercial agreements.
- Obtained reversal in the 11th Circuit Appellate Court for decision by a Federal District Court allowing parties to contract for the element of irreparable harm in commercial agreements.
- Successfully Defended Fortune 500 Company regarding Securities and Exchange Commission and Federal Communications Commission compliance issues.
- Obtained favorable result for Fortune 500 Company regarding breach of licensing and distribution agreements.

- Negotiated settlement of fraud and breach of consumer agreement cases.
- Negotiated settlement of cases involving breach of licensing agreements, retailer commission agreements, and fraud.
- Negotiated settlement of multi-million dollar employment discrimination and defamation case for a large energy company.
- Obtained favorable settlement for Fortune 500 Company in an employment discrimination case that subsequently resulted in the dismissal of three additional discrimination cases in the same jurisdiction.
- Successfully mediated settlement of construction negligence case involving a 35-mile Texas pipeline.
- Resolved numerous Title VII cases including claims of sexual harassment, violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act, age and race discrimination.
- Defended and negotiated settlement for Fortune 500 Company regarding complex commercial dispute with Viacom, the global media company owning brands such as CBS, MTV, Paramount Pictures, Showtime, and others.
