Eric Storm works in the firm’s Austin office. He maintains a civil litigation, administrative law and appellate practice focused on a broad range of commercial litigation matters. Eric has experience litigating cases in the areas of financial services litigation; life, health and disability insurance litigation; oil and gas, construction, employment, intellectual property and toxic tort litigation. He represents clients at trial, on appeal and in contested case proceedings before public agencies.
Before joining Edison, McDowell & Hetherington LLP, Eric was a law clerk for Texas Supreme Court Justice Wallace B. Jefferson and worked as a trial attorney for Bracewell & Guiliani LLP. While in law school, he served as Articles Editor for the Texas Law Review.

Representative Matters

Represented Phoenix Insurance Company in defense of an employee retaliation lawsuit in Portland, Oregon, and won summary judgment on all claims.
Represented a major Texas insurance company in employment litigation and won summary judgment in arbitration of discrimination and retaliation claims.
Represented a midsized accounting firm in defense of a professional negligence lawsuit tried to a jury in San Antonio District Court, winning a take-nothing judgment.
Represented third-party insureds of Farmers Insurance in multiple trials, arbitrations and mediations, including defending a civil assault case tried to a jury in Travis County District Court, winning a favorable defense verdict.
Represented Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority in ad valorem tax matters and on appeal of a breach of contract dispute to the Texas Third Court of Appeals and to the Texas Supreme Court.
Represented the plaintiff, Parkburn Precision Handling Systems Ltd., an engineering company specializing in the design and construction of marine handling systems, in a breach of contract and intellectual property dispute in federal district court in Austin, Texas.
Represented a Fortune 1000 software manufacturer in employment and intellectual property litigation in the Travis County District Court.
Represented defendants American Processing and ONEOK, Inc., at trial in a multimillion-dollar gas purchase and processing contract dispute in the Texas Panhandle and defeated class action certification.
Represented a telecom provider in a dispute with the Texas Comptroller over gross receipts assessments, including representation in a state agency contested case, at trial and on appeal.
Represented a member of Congress in high-profile civil and criminal matters, including pretrial motions, court hearings and appellate matters.
Represented a death row inmate petitioning for habeas corpus in federal district court and on appeal to the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
