DOVER, DE (August 17, 2011) — EMH partner Tom Hetherington presented oral argument to the Delaware Supreme Court today in connection with three questions of law certified by the United States District Court for the District of Delaware.  The Delaware Supreme Court is being asked to address legal issues surrounding stranger originated life insurance (STOLI) policies procured through Delaware statutory trusts.  The Delaware Supreme Court's answers to these questions are widely expected to have critical implications not only on ongoing STOLI litigation, but also to the life insurance industry generally.
